The Importance of Literacy
At the Gold River Literacy Society, we believe that literacy is a fundamental human right. Literacy empowers individuals, families, and communities to break the cycle of poverty, improve health outcomes, and achieve economic and social mobility. Literacy also promotes civic engagement and democracy by enabling individuals to participate fully in their communities.
Unfortunately, not everyone has equal access to literacy. Many individuals face significant barriers to acquiring basic literacy skills, such as poverty, low educational attainment, and lack of access to resources. The Gold River Literacy Society works to address these barriers by providing accessible and free literacy programs to individuals and families in our community.
Join us in our mission to promote literacy and empower our community!
